Description
The course aims to make you feel trained, competent, and confident to use dry needling/medical acupuncture the next day you are in clinic.
The course is suitable for Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, and Sports Therapists at Level 4 and above. The course is also suitable for final year students of the above.
Foundation Course will cover the –
Rationale and history of using dry needling
Clinical implications
Contra-indications and considerations
Identifying and locating myofasical trigger points
The best conditions and symptoms for dry needling
How to combine dry needling into your treatments to develop a comprehensive approach and awareness when to use
Practical application for the following muscles/areas;
Sub occipitals
Trapezius and Levator Scapulae
Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, Teres Minor, Deltoids
Thoracic and Lumbar Erector Spinae
Gluteus maximus, medius, minimus, Piriformis
Forearm Extensors and Flexors
Quadriceps, Hamstrings, gastrocnemius and Soleus, Achilles tendon
Free set of acupuncture needles will be given at the end of the course for you to use the following day in practice.
